Holiday Camp FAQs

Useful Information

What ages can children attend an APB holiday camp?

We accept children age 5 - 12.

Does my child need a packed lunch?

Yes your child will need a packed lunch and plenty to drink.  Please note we are a NUT FREE organisation, so please do not send your child with any foods containing nuts.

What should my child bring and wear?

Please send your child with enough food to last the day. Please bear in mind they may need more than they would for a normal school day as they will be active all day. Make sure your child has a drink or water bottle as they will be able to fill this up at the venue throughout the day.
Any active clothing that they can run and move around in is in however it needs to be clothing appropriate for the weather and activity. If it is a cold day then please send them with coats, hats and gloves and a waterproof jacket.

What will happen on my child's first day?

On your child’s first day it is usually a good idea to arrive a few minutes early so you can find us and our coaches can get your child settled in with where their bags and bits need to go. It will also give our coaches a chance to introduce themselves as well as answer any further questions you may have.

What qualifications do APB staff have?

All of our holiday camp coaches have worked in schools delivering PE and Sports on a weekly basis and have a range of experience in a range of activities. They will most likely have at least one level 2 sports coaching qualification or a few level 1 qualifications. They will also have a recent DBS check, paediatric first aid and safeguarding qualifications.

What is a 'multi-sports' camp?

On our Multi-Sport Camp days we will do a range of sports throughout the day lasting for around 45 minutes to 60 minutes each. This can range from Football, Cricket, Basketball, Tennis, Rounders, Dodgeball, Athletics, Hockey and more. We may also play a number of other active games throughout the week which are not necessarily classified as sports but are active in their nature.

What if I am late to pick-up my child?

We obviously understand that sometimes things happen that can affect it being possible to pick up your child on time. If you are 5-10 minutes late to collect we will call you to find out what the situation is and hopefully resolve the situation. If you are late more than once, you will be charged £1 for every minute you are late.

What is your refund policy?

We do not offer refunds if your child is sick or you have changed your plans. If we are given 72 hours notice then you will be able to carry days forward to use at a future date. Please email us for further details. If you book the wrong day by mistake we will move you across to your chosen date without additional charge as long as there are still spaces.
